What it is
The Self-Doubter's default is the audit. Every impulse is cross-examined, every success discounted, every failure entered as evidence. He waits for a confidence that is only ever issued after the act he is avoiding.
Under pressure
Pressure convenes the prosecution. Small criticisms become verdicts; neutral faces become hostile readings. He shrinks pre-emptively — declining, apologizing, and rehearsing — in rooms that were never judging him at all.
The tell: he asks permission for things no one is guarding, and apologizes in rooms he was invited into.
