The institutes.
One company, one subject, three mandates. The institutes are how a lab stays honest at scale: each one publishes, and each one can be checked against its own charter.
Worst Version Institute
WVI — the public institute. Owns the taxonomy and the eight patterns, teaches the world the language, and publishes the books through its press.
Institute for Default Research
IDR — the science. Owns the instrument, the methodology and the dataset. Publishes the studies. The arm universities partner with and grants chase.
World Default Organization
WDO — the globe. Owns the Pattern Index and the country data, and publishes the annual State of the Default. The arm the press quotes.
How they fit
WVI names it. IDR measures it. WDO counts it worldwide. The sequence is deliberate: a public language first, a validated instrument second, a global census third — and funding, when it comes, follows publications. Never the reverse.
